Ceremonial Cacao

Ceremonial cacao is pure magic

This beautiful medicine has brought myself and my clients tremendous healing and joy!

In South and Central America, cacao has been used for thousands of years in ceremony. Then it got lost… and now, we are invited to retrieve it, respectfully and consciously.

Cacao is a powerful superfood, containing a range of very healthy ingredients that support everyone in their daily lives. It is especially valuable for women during their childbearing years:

  • Magnesium: mental clarity & focus, bone & heart health, metabolises carbs and glucose, prevents type 2 diabetes, relief from constipation and morning sickness, PMS, anxiety

  • Antioxidants and Flavonols: slow damage to cells by free radicals, support cardiovascular & cognitive health, relax blood vessels, improve blood flow, and lower blood pressure

  • Theobromine: „opens the heart“ (energetically and physically), cardiovascular stimulant provides mental focus, lifts mood and energy, reduces fatigue, relaxes smooth muscle tissue

  • PEA (the „love chemical“; psychoactive compound): increases dopamine production, enhances attentiveness and elevated mood, helps with depression, weight loss, attention, athletic performance

  • Anandamide (the „bliss chemical“, psychoactive compound): makes us feel blissful

  • Iron, potassium, folic acid, calcium, flavanols support fetal growth and development

A gentle yet powerful plant medicine, Cacao supports my clients' journeys and transformations in

bespoke 1:1 settings and in group ceremonies.

Savouring Cacao in a group ceremony is a wonderful way of connecting to her magic. I would like to invite you to go deeper: Drinking a cup of velvety cacao at home every day is a wonderful way of connecting more deeply – with cacao, with yourself and your heart, and with those around you.

Compared to other brands it contains very little caffeine and high amounts of theobromine.

I love to integrate ceremonial cacao in the private sessions I offer as a midwife, shamanic practitioner and Reiki practitioner

Alongside these 1:1 sessions, my passion lies in holding bespoke group cacao ceremonies for any joyful occasion like a baby shower, welcome ceremony for your newborn child, birthday celebration, anniversary, bachelorette party, wedding...

Serving the whole wheel of life, it is also my honour to hold space in moments of sadness including divorce, loss, grieving...

Good To Know

It’s time to melt ... Let yourself be seduced by Theobroma Cacao aka

The Food of the Gods

A daily dose of ceremonial cacao can be anywhere from 14 to 28 grams. If you are new to it, please consider starting with a smaller dose, such as 14 grams, and increase gradually as you become more experienced. Cacao is a beautiful, soft and powerful medicine, and it is important to be respectful of its potency. A "ceremonial dose" amounts to 42-50 g of cacao.

*Please be aware of the following*

If you take antidepressants (SSRIs or MAO-Inhibitors); suffer from chronic heart conditions; epilepsy; or hypertension, please enjoy cacao with caution and start with lower doses. It can cause nausea, headaches and an increase in blood pressure. Please get in touch to discuss details.

Please remember to treat cacao with loving respect by being mindful while working with her. Find your own way of becoming present and create a sacred space. You could smudge the room, light a candle, play your

favourite music, chant/sing, or pray.

Honouring "Mama Cacao" in this way will help to retain

all the good stuff that she bestows us with...

Over time, you will find your favourite way of enjoying her – as a hot drink or a smoothie, in the form of bliss balls, brownies, confections, chocolate mousse (yes!) or cake.

Ingredients

  • 20-28g (1 oz) of Keith’s Cacao, finely chopped

  • 130-150 ml of water (or more; you can experiment with adding vegan milk)

  • 1/8 tsp ground cardamom

  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1-2 drops natural vanilla flavour

  • Natural honey or maple syrup to taste

  • Please add other spices if you like – chilli, nutmeg, ginger, cloves..

A Silky Cup of Cacao

Instructions

  • Chop the cacao into small pieces with a knife (you can then use a food processor to chop more finely; don’t blend too long or the cacao will start melting 😉)

  • Place cacao into a little saucepan

  • Heat the water to about 70-80 degrees or until you see vapour rising – don’t boil it (this would destroy the energetic qualities of cacao)

  • Put the pot on low heat and slowly add some water, stir with a whisk to make a thick paste. Add the rest of the water, the spices and the honey.

  • Once everything has dissolved beautifully, bring some extra smoothness in by using a blender.

  • Enjoy consciously, opening your heart for Mama Cacao’s medicine
